About Carcassonne (Trèbes)
The iconic Cathar stronghold of Carcassonne is a 3hr cruise, and only a 15minute drive (8km) west, from our Carcassonne (Trèbes) base. This makes for the perfect start or finish to you boating adventure, and the short distance by car means you can save cruising time if you’d rather. Before or after you visit this ‘must-see’ attraction, we recommend you navigate to the east of our base into the very heart of the Canal du Midi. The vineyards and wine cellars at Ventenac & Paraza are an 8hr cruise away and the pretty village of Le Somail is not long after that. Carcassonne (Trèbes) is also a good start or end base if you have kids – a 5km taxi ride away is Lake Cavayère, home to a host of outdoor fun and activities.

Pre-bookable secured parking offsite (300 meters from the base) or public unsecured parking near the base.
Directions
From Calais: Take A26 Reims/Troyes. Then A5 direction Langres. Then A31 direction Beaune (passing Dijon). Once at Beaune take A6 direction Lyon. Then at Lyon take A7 Orange (passing Valance). At Orange take A9 through to Narbonne (passing Nimes and Montpellier). At Narbonne take A61 direction Carcassonne. Take exit 24 on A61. Then take N113 into Trebes. Follow signs for Trebes centre. Cross the River Aude, continue to canal bridge and then cross canal. You will then find Emerald Star 200m on your right. Road distance approximately 1205 kms 12 hrs.
From Paris: Take N20 all the way to Toulouse. Then join A61 direction Carcassonne. Exit at Carcassonne East and follow signs for Trebes centre. Cross the River Aude, continue to canal bridge and then cross canal. You will then find Emerald Star 200m on your right. Road distance approximately 800 kms 8 hrs.
