Precenicco is situated in the pretty Friuli region, a far cry from the hubbub of Venice. It’s ideal if you want to experience a less ‘frantic’ Italian adventure. The quaint old fishing town of Grado is 6 hrs away, the ancient Roman ruins of Aquileia just 5hrs and the popular beach resort that run parallel with the canal are just 3hrs out. It is possible to get all the way to Venice and back in a week, but a oneway trip to/from our base in Casale would make for a more comfortable pace, if you want to explore both Venice and Friuli.

History & Heritage
Venice is a treasure trove of history and heritage. Include time for it in your history holidays, and then cruise to Murano for its glassware, Burano for its lace and beautifully colourful houses, and Jesolo for its Villa Saccagnana. Tour Villa Pisani on the lovely Brenta Riviera.
Golf
There are first-rate golf clubs abound in Veneto to inspire golf weekends on your canal boat cruises in Venice. Tee off at the Golf Club Villa Condulmer near Casale. It’s a super 18-hole course set on a palatial estate. The course at Grado is one of Italy’s best.
Swimming
Relax in the warm sunshine on the golden beaches of Adriatic resorts. Take a dip in the sea to cool off or enjoy a refreshing swim in a pool. The waters of the Friuli region are particularly inviting for lagoon swimming. Grado should top your list.
Gastronomy
Italy is known worldwide for its fantastic cuisine! In addition to pizza, pasta and gelato, sample delicious antipasti creations, amazing bruschetta and fresh fish and seafood. Combine with fine Italian wines for a dining heaven. Alternatively, stroll the colourful markets and buy local produce for a delicious meal on board.

Had a wonderful holiday and really enjoyed the experience boating in the lagoon.
We found it difficult to find mooring space so a bit more information on exactly where to moor would have been useful. We tried to phone ahead to Chiogga but couldn’t get an answer and didn’t want to risk getting there and not being able to stop for the night so ended up returning to Burano for the night and didn’t get to visit Chiogga.
If we did the trip again we would make sure we planned every day and night more thoroughly.

We were able to visit a number of Island within the Venice area. We couldn’t make it make it to Precenicco but made the most of all the islands around the Venice lagoon All were beautiful, offering its own unique charm. We took the opportunity to moor at a different island every night to make the most of the trip. People were friendly and made our trip really special. The Magnifique was just the right size boat for 7 people. Any more on the boat would have been too tight. Love every minute of it. Perfect way to see Venice and the neighbouring islands.
